New Dawn

Well I found out that this title is rather amusing because this journal is posted at night... you be judge. This is actually my first blog in a couple of years. Justified again I must say since I begin my new life in university, something which I really anticipated. But reputation aside, the university that I'm in seemed out of place. In case you are wondering, I'm in Universiti Sains Malaysia of Health Campus - a prestigous university in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. Yes, I repeat KELANTAN. Being Malaysian, we have stereotypic view of this state and this also include Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak. Well, I'm a Sarawakian and I'm totally against this act of discrimination. Yet, I'm a naive person and I only see the bright side of the moon. Put it this way, an urban kid like me don't wanna stay in Kelantan. Guess that I'm wrong? Think again. There's only 2 shopping malls here, boasted its brand new bowling alley, and no cinema. Oh the horror! I don't expect any Coffee Bean or Starbuck here but please... let us have a cinema here. I wish to share more with you, meaning to say to show some photo of evidence. Sadly I don't have any camera yet. Until then, use your imaginative pictures of my views in this blog (the title of this blog is "Outlook and Insight" anyway). However, I do stress on not being stereotypic. On the positive side, the people here are very friendly and courteous. The moral and ethical values are highly uphold in Kelantan - being a very Islamic state does have its advantage, which comes back to the absense of a cinema here. Reason? Avoid any immoral activities inside a dark cinema. Rather shocking? Better leave that one aside. But Kelantan is not a bad place anyway. My seniors told me that the beaches here are beautiful. That's worth checking into. Since I'm so used to live at coastal areas, this piece of information is very much appreciated.
